I use this title because not only is it our yearbook theme this year but also it is what I have done the past couple of weeks.
As I am beginning to write all of my speeches for the various events, gathering presents for all of the people who are important and mean something to me, building up my excitement, and, of course, coordinating my attire for everything, I am slowly reliving all of my memories from high school. Some good, and some not so great. Some that make me sad & teary-eyed. Some that make me grin from ear to ear. Yes, changing some things would have made my time in high school much easier. But the truth is, my life, my time in high school, and much more and farther beyond that, has made me the strong, independent, capable, level-headed, optimistic, (so many more adjectives, insert here) woman I am today. I am super excited to take on the next few weeks and, soon, to turn the page on this chapter and into the next.
Inspiration has came from everywhere lately. My latest and biggest inspiration was found listening to the radio while driving to school. Immediately, I clicked voice record on my phone, and I began recording myself saying my future speech. It is all just falling into place.
Quick event recap!
1. The mailman brought my laptop for college today! I have picked out my bedding! And bought some craft supplies for our wall decor!
2. I got my new check card and UNC checks in the Mail!
3. I proudly voted for the first time.
4. I won the Rotary Scholarship after having an interview! And just this morning went to the scholarship breakfast where I was honored as well as five other people. Another $1,000 closer!
5. I also won another scholarship worth $1,500!!! I am not sure which scholarship it is exactly. This is all off of my counselor's information to me. Of course, she won't tell me too many details.
6. I sent out all of my graduation invitations!! I am now working on a couple games for the cookout for family and adult friends. Including a "how well do you know the graduate" survey, signing book & well wishes, and guess how much.... is in the jar. I may even do center pieces for the tables... But then again, I may be getting carried away with my excitement.
7. I got my yearbook today and my family surprised me with a little note. SO sweet.
8. Soccer has ended... Unfortunately. But I have still spent a night, here & there, with the girls each week. I am continuing to run 3 to 4 mi a day. Staying in shape.
9. I am done with all of my exams for the collegeboard and high school!!! *cheer here*
Everything has happened so quickly. And time has truly flown by. Bittersweet. But exciting also. I have so many pictures to add. I will be going back and updating this and previous posts with photos. I hope you all have a safe and amazing weekend.

Dedication, hardwork, love, but most of all family
These are all the words I would use to describe my spectacular varsity women's soccer team. But more on that in a bit.
Quick recap and celebration from the past two weeks:
1. I won the Student of the Year Hillsborough Exchange Scholarship!! This now gives me an additional $1,000 to $1,500 on top of the already $500 I won last month as Student of the Month. I will now be competing at states.
2. I scored my first soccer goal in all four years I have played soccer. It was not gorgeous, but it counted on the score board for my team.
3. I have picked out a picture for all of my graduation invitations. Another personal aspect of the invitations is I designed my very first invitation by myself in Photoshop. I think they look great!! Very me. I have also made all of my appointments for the day of graduation!!
4. My roommate and I picked out our room color scheme. Purple, Black, White, & Silver are our colors. Already looking for my bedding set.
5. I am gathering addresses, stuffing envelopes, and all that craziness to hopefully get graduation invites out by this weekend. I have decided on a formal theme (the font, colors, way they are addressed, etc)
6. I applied yesterday to this awesome program called Carolina Kickoff! It is a huge party the first three days before school starts where we learn chants, learn more about the campus, and meet new people. It is by application and only 500 people get to apply and then 150 are chosen.
7. I opened my college checking account today! And I now have Carolina Checks!!!!
8. May 1st I was given the opportunity to interview for a local scholarship worth $1,000. I think it went great!! I am very grateful for the chance to speak about how much this money can help me. Hopefully, I win. Who doesn't love to win?!?!
9. I won $5 on my first lottery ticket!!!
And Lastly, but certainly, not the least:
10. Tomorrow is senior night for soccer. It is crazy to think that time has gone by this fast. It will be our last regular season game at home and for the season. We will continue to go onto playoffs. Warning, I will be crying tomorrow. After four years, you guys are my family and I love you all. We got our senior night shirts and I swear I was about to just bawl then. So on that note, because I will be a reck, I want to make sure each of you know how much you mean to me. Below, you will find a note addressed to all of you. I mean every word of it. And remember, no matter what happens, I love you all to pieces.
Seniors:
Katie "Bum"- Where do I even begin. We have played all four years together, and both went through a pretty traumatic concussion spell. I love to think of you as the team "rock". You are always calm on the field and keep us in high spirits. You listen well to everyone on the team and pump us up. You are by far one of the most talented soccer players I know. I will miss you so much! But I am sure we will keep in touch. You are gonna kick butt at Gardner Webb in their Nursing Program and possibly playing soccer there. Don't change. Love you.
Mia- Girl, I feel like you have either been sick or dealing with shin splints most of the season. But that never stopped you. I remember the goal at Cedar Ridge where you made the shot and then went down with a pulled/strained quad. All you thought about through the pain was you made that shot. Admirable. Tenacity. So many words that could never cover it. You are beautiful and will do amazing in whatever you decide to do. I will miss the slaps on the butt during practices or you telling me I look "hott" with my skirt tight around my tush. I love you.
Brooke- We were friends way before soccer even happened. You were always the one to extend a helping hand to me. Or offer me a place to sleep. Or just say a kind word. I remember carpooling before we could even drive. Your kindness will go a long way. And lets not forget that fight you bring to the field every night. This year was definitely your year in soccer. I will miss you very much. Love you.
Tatiana: Well, we have had our differences, I admit. We have at times been each others worst critic and enemy. But this year, things felt like they changed a lot. I saw a different side of you. A gentle one. But yet, I saw some of our similarities. We both keep our guard up to protect ourselves. I remember car rides. And of course Charlotte. Picking clothes out for me. You have stepped up playing defense and your touch has greatly improved. I am so proud of you and love you very much.
Juniors:
Natalie: I could say so much. But I know space just will not permit. The shirts last year. The only person who came and helped that was an underclassman. You were just awesome. You remain a strong voice (and leg) on our team. Your speed has dramatically increased. You have saved my butt countless times the past four years. Many times afterwards followed with frustration. But it only made me want to be better for my team. I will not be surprised to see you as a captain next year. Thank you for everything you have done this year to make this night special for our seniors. You are gonna have an awesome senior year overseas next year and I can't wait to come cheer you on! Love you.
Madison: You really stepped it up this year and took over as goalie. Every game I see how hard you play, diving for every ball. You are also becoming more active in the communication on the field. A strong voice like yours has a lot of sway with our team. I will always be there for you after every game. Never doubt that. I will not be surprised next year when I see you getting into all these ivy league schools. I love you.
Devon: I must say, I have always admired the fight, hustle, & will to win in you. You attack every single ball. I have never seen you even ask to be sat out because you were tired. You inspire me Devon Allen (please don't cry). You have overcame some of the biggest obstacles in life. So I say this with no doubt, you are gonna be life changing for this world, and you are going to do great things. Don't you ever let anyone put you down. I love you!
Sweet MJ: You have always been the reliable mid-fielder who will come back if I need help on D or help on offense. Your will to fight and play even though you may be injured does not go unnoticed. Although you may not like this, you remind me a lot of your sister. I adore your lovely curly locks. Miss you tons already. Love you even more.
Viviane: Frenchy!! You are the cutest and stylish person if I have ever saw one! You have been an awesome mid-fielder and defender. You have great foot skills and can fake any person out on the field. I love your happy spirit. It raises mine on my worst days. I also love the sass. It is the best combination. I couldn't dream of a soccer team without you being a part of it. Love you.
Sophomores:
Ashley "Blake": It makes me so sad that you have been so sick this season. I have missed you greatly each day on the field. But when you are on the field, you leave it all out there. You give everything you have for our team and there is nothing greater than seeing that. We, and I, could not be more proud of you. Love you.
Grace: You make me laugh. Soo much. You know I have to say something about the pants. But it is the cutest thing and you are such a great sport about it. Even though I pick, please know I love you more than anything. I cherish our conversations and you are becoming such an awesome outside middie. Your communication is recognized throughout our field. I will miss you!! Love you. Don't pee, ok?
Haley: You were always the stylish one with your cowboy boots and dress. But there is one thing you did for me that I will never ever forget as long as I live. It still puts me to tears as I sit here and think about it. The day after I accepted Carolina, I was really nervous, worried, confused, and plain out scared. You wrote me a note, with some bible verses. That note, the fact you took a second just to tell me, to do something soo nice for me out of all people, made me feel amazing. Made me realize that I did have god and everything would still go as planned even though Carolina was not my top choice. I can never say thank you enough. I hope you feel better and that your foot heals quickly. I love you, so much!
Hannah: You have a killer left foot. No matter what angle you are at, you can nail that shot right into the corner. So jealous. Don't forget you will always be our toucan!! Keep kicking butt and taking names! Love you!
Summer: Although you joined our team later into the season, you have really stepped up and provided the support we needed as a team. I am glad it was you who joined us and not someone else. I know leaving JV where all your friends are was a huge step but we could have never made it this far without you. Thank you. I love you.
Tallie: You too with the butt grabbing ;) You are fierce! All of your shots on goal are quality. You have taken us from losing to a tie or even winning a game. You are going to be a real game changing player these next two years for Orange. I cannot wait to watch you. And, of course say, that's my friend!!!! Love you, Tallie.
Freshman:
Rachel: You are SO talented. I have never played with anyone who wants that goal more. You foot skills are off the chain. You keep a nice flow through the center of play and set our team up for a great number of shots at goal. I am not surprised you are the highest scorer on our team. And I will not be surprised if you end up in the Olympics or playing for UNC. I can't wait to see how you transform as a player. You are a huge asset to Orange's team. Love you.
Megan: You are the toughest person I know. And so sweet!!! I don't get how someone so small can knock someone over and then be like, "I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" I love it. I know you hate us touching your butt, but your reaction is so cute. And MJ & your little facebook battle, glad there were no "consequences". Keep knocking them over. You have the power of underestimation. They will never expect it, but watch out here comes Megan!!! Love you!!
Lexi: You have really stepped up this year. Thank you for the texts always saying how you would miss me if I was gone a day or something. It means a ton!! You are awesome marking the field up and getting the ball away from a player on the opposing team. You are gonna be a fabulous and permanent addition to the varsity team next year. Keep up the good work and always believe in yourself. Love you.
Muah, Muah, Muah. I love you all. I wish I could just gush longer over how much you all mean, but I have to sleep sometime right?!? I cannot wait to spend tomorrow with you guys celebrating and kicking some tail!!! You guys are my family and always will be. Never forget, no matter what, I am here for every one of you! Love you.

Brittany
